शिकूया संस्कारातून भाषा, जपूया भाषेतून संस्कृती…!

नमस्कार,

सिॲटल् महाराष्ट्र मंडळाने सिॲटल् मराठी शाळेची सुरुवात २०२२ पासून केली. . हा उपक्रम  बृहन्महाराष्ट्र महाराष्ट्र मंडळ (नॉर्थ अमेरिका) यांच्या छत्रछायेखाली राबवला जात आहे. या शाळेमार्फत आपल्या पुढील पिढीला मराठी मातृभाषा आणि संस्कृती यांची ओळख करून देत आहोत.

या उपक्रमात मुलांना हसत खेळत मराठी भाषेमधून विचार करण्याची, वाचनाची व लिहिण्याची आवड निर्माण करण्याचा प्रयत्न करत आहोत.  त्याचबरोबर ह्या उपक्रमाच्या माध्यमातून आपले मराठी सण एकत्र साजरे करणे, आपले परंपरागत मराठी खेळ खेळणे, स्नेहसंमेलन, क्रीडा संमेलन, सहल अश्या व इतर अनेक गोष्टी राबवल्या जात आहेत.

उद्देश

भारताबाहेर राहूनही मुलांनी आपली मातृभाषा साध्या सोप्या पद्धतीने शिकावी. त्यांना आपले विचार मराठीत मांडता यावेत  आणि सहजरित्या मराठीत संवाद साधता यावा. मुलांना आपले संस्कार, संस्कृती व इतिहास इत्यादी कळावे आणि आपले सण व त्यामागील शास्त्र समजावे.

उपक्रमाचे स्वरूप

• सिॲटल् मराठी शाळा  ही एक ना–नफा (Non-profit) शाळा आहे. शाळा केवळ स्वयंसेवक चालवतात.
• शाळा ऑनलाईन व प्रत्यक्ष पद्धतीने सुरु आहे. दर आठवड्यात  प्रत्येक शुक्रवारी शाळा ऑनलाईन असते तर महिन्याच्या एका रविवारी शाळा प्रत्यक्षरित्या भरवली जाते.
• ऑनलाईन शाळेमध्ये मुलांना अभ्यासक्रम शिकवला जातो तर प्रत्यक्ष पद्धतीत मुलांना आपले संस्कार, श्लोक, इतिहास सांगणे व खेळ, चित्रकला इत्यादी उपक्रम राबविले जातात.
• हा अभ्यासक्रम महाराष्ट्र शासन – बालभारती- यांच्या सहकार्याने भारताबाहेर वास्तव्यास  असलेल्या मुलांसाठी तयार कलेला आहे.

“Seattle Marathi Shala and Sanskar Varga” initiative was started from 2022 by SMM (Seattle Maharashtra Mandal) with the patronage of Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal of North America (BMM).

Purpose of the shala is to introduce the rich heritage of Marathi language and Marathi culture to our next generation.

Under this initiative, we intend to engage kids to think, read and write in Marathi and develop interest towards the language. They are encouraged to participate   in different activities based on Marathi culture, festivals, traditional games etc. The intent is to make them understand the tradition and the thought process behind our festivals.

Purpose

Teach Marathi language in an easy manner to students residing outside of India. Empower students to be able to express themselves and be able to speak fluently in Marathi. Enable them to learn and understand our traditions, rich culture and history as well as introduce students to our festivals, their importance and science behind those.

Nature of the program:

• Seattle Marathi Shala  is a non-profit school. The school is solely run by volunteers.
• The school is being conducted online as well as in-person. Online classes are conducted every Friday  whereas in-person classes  are held once a month on a Sunday.
• In online classes, students are taught Language Curriculum whereas in-person classes are dedicated to activities like learning traditions, culture, history, storytelling, games etc.
• The coursework is based on a curriculum developed by Balbharati – Maharastra Shasan keeping in mind the needs of students residing outside of India.
