Amendment 1 – Passed

Criteria for YUVA Office Bearers Selection (Effective from July 2025, as passed in AGBM-2024)

  1. Shortlisting Candidates: The Executive Committee (EC) will shortlist candidates based on the number of SMM events each YUVA member has volunteered for. Preference will be given to YUVA members with the highest volunteer hours.
  2. Election Process: If multiple candidates meet the first criterion, an election will be conducted. In this election, votes will be cast by eligible YUVA members, SMM Office Bearers (OBs), and the YUVA advisor.
  3. Voting Integrity: To prevent conflicts of interest, family members (e.g., siblings or parents of EC members) are not allowed to vote in the election process.
  4. Eligibility for Office Bearer Position: To be eligible for a YUVA Office Bearer position, a YUVA member must have volunteered for SMM events during the previous year (based on the YUVA calendar year).

Amendment 2B – Passed partially for Student Tier

Introduction of new Membership Tier – “Vidyarthi”

  • To ensure that member benefits are accessible and affordable for students, new membership tier will be introduced, requiring proof of eligibility. The membership fee for the “Vidyarthi” tier will be $20 per year, and eligible students must be between 18 and 25 years old.

 

Amendment 2C – Passed

SMM Membership – Family Tier is required for continuous enrollment in the SMM Marathi Shala

  • For enrollment of their children to SMM Marathi Shala, Parents are required to be a SMM Member – Family Tier.
  • In an event if the Parent(s) are not SMM members and yet wish to enroll their child for SMM Marathi Shala in the upcoming academic year (Sep of the current year through May of next year), the parent is required to procure SMM Membership – Individual Tier for the current calendar year. In the next calendar year, the parent will be required to transition to SMM Membership – Family Tier.
