Silver Jubilee Event Frequently Asked Questions

This is a “members only” event, every ticket holder must be a member. Membership status will be checked at the venue. We suggest that your friends become members so they can be eligible to buy tickets.

This is a day-long event set in a convention style. Your ticket provides entry to all programs and includes breakfast, special Maharashtrian themed lunch, and light dinner. There are no separate tickets for food or individual programs. Due to venue’s capacity constraints and to ensure food can be served to everyone within the available time, it was decided not to sell additional food tickets.

This is a celebration of 25 years of SMM with focus on getting our long term members together with new members to recount and rejoice our organizations growth and journey through the years. Given this theme and the limited capacity of the venue, we prioritized making this event exclusive to our members. Becoming a member is easy and can be done when purchasing tickets.

Your membership type determines number of tickets you can buy. Single members can buy one ticket only. Couple membership allows you to buy 2 tickets. Family membership allows you to buy tickets for your family members (of age 10 and above) and visiting (non-resident) parents.

There are no refunds, but you can sell your ticket to another SMM member (be sure to confirm their membership status). You can post such sale on SMM’s Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/seattlemm/. We plan to print attendee badges with ticket holder names therefore, If you sell your ticket, please be sure to inform us via email to info@seattlemm.org so we print tickets with correct names and validate membership status to avoid any surprises on the day of the event.

This is a day-long event in convention style with content that is not likely to be of interest to young kids. There has been feedback from prior events (which were of much shorter length) where kids became restless and disruptive making it hard for others to enjoy the program. While this is a marquee event, our celebrations continue through the year so there will be many other programs where kids would be welcome (including Kids talent show program that is specifically meant for them).

Age limit was decided considering duration of this event and types of programs. We understand that there can be many opinions as to what is the right age but to be fair to the everyone, we had to draw to a line somewhere.

Yes, as long as you have couple or family membership. All seating is assigned, and entry is limited to the ticket holder only. Any exchange of tickets will need to take place outside of the auditorium. Ticket and membership status will be checked at the entry, and lanyards will be checked at the auditorium entry.

We spent a lot of time and effort into arranging for childcare, unfortunately it did not work out. The long duration of the event (almost 12 hours) meant that cost of childcare would have been very high. Even if we could find enough interested parents, Bellevue high school was unable to provide any suitable space for childcare. We continue to work on collecting list of nearby childcare facilities and will be sharing that in the coming days.

Given the number of expected attendees and use of multiple outside vendors, we are unable to accommodate any special dietary requests or allergy accommodations. If you have special dietary requirements, please feel free to bring your own food (note, no food can be brought into auditorium). We are unable to provide any discount for not having the catered food.
