Sarathi Cover

Dear community members,
We are looking for a talented artists who are interested designing Silver Jubilee Sarathi Visheshank front page art. The art should be appropriate for silver jubilee celebrations. Below are some of the rules –

You need to be current SMM member to send your entry.
In order to give a chance to other talented community artists, please do not send your entry, if your Sarathi front cover art was already published in the past.
The size of the art should be 8×11.5 inches.
Art must be scalable. (Vector art is preferable)
If your art is not digitally produced then you need to make sure the resolution must be minimum 300 dpi , when you scan a copy of it.
Also, the colors & the lines in the art must be clear in the scanned copy.
Only local artists can send their entry.

Sarathi Material

We arranged a special Nibandha Spardha for Silver Jubilee but due to lack of response from the community we are cancelling it. Whoever have sent their articles for this spardha, their articles will be published in Saarathi. We are now accepting articles, poems, recipes etc. from you & your extended family members. Please spread the word & submit all the material by Feb 09, 2018.

Finally, it is here… Year for the Silver Jubilee Celebrations!!

We are excited to announce that ticket sales for SMM’s Silver Jubilee celebration will begin on February 09, 2018 at 7 PM. Here is all the information you were waiting for!

Please keep the membership registered email Id handy to buy the tickets. Write to membership@seattlemm.org if you are not sure about your registered email Id.

Given below is the important information about program outline, ticket pricing, structure, and restrictions.

Program Outline

08:00-09:00 — Registration starts
08:30-09:15 — Breakfast
09:45-11:45 — Opening ceremony: Colorful opening ceremony with a musical dance-drama set to the theme of celebrating Rajeshahi thaat and grandeur of our region. Recounting memories of the past 25 years of SMM.
12:00-01:30 — Lunch: A sumptuous lunch with taste and specialties of Maharashtrian cuisine.
02:00-05:00 — Naatak: Vasant Kanetkar’s famous light comedy play “Premachya Gava Jave”. Directed by Subhag Oak with local talents. This is a SMM co-production with Xperiments.
05:00-06:30 — Light dinner: Street food catered by local Indian Food trucks.
07:00-09:30 — Grand Finale : “Sur Niragas Ho”, an acclaimed vocal music program by national award winner singer Mahesh Kale of “Katyar kaljat ghusali” fame. He will be accompanied by many talented artists from all over the USA.

Tickets

Online ticket sales will begin on February 09, 2018, 7 PM at Seattle Maharashtra Mandal Website.
Please make sure that your membership info is in order or buy membership to speed up your purchase as this is expected to be a sellout event.

Pricing & structure – There will be 3 levels of tickets
Silver — $55
Gold — $75
Platinum — $110

All inclusive – All tickets are all-day all-inclusive (includes breakfast, lunch, light dinner and entry to programs).

1. Price difference reflects seating location in the theatre.
2. There will be no partial day tickets or tickets for food only or program only.
3. There will be no sale of food at the venue.

Assigned seating – This event will have assigned seating. You will be able to select your seats at the time of ticket purchase. Selected seat will be valid for the whole day for all programs.
Members only event: This is a member only event. All ticket holders must be SMM members. Members cannot buy tickets for non-members nor can they share/transfer their tickets with non-members. Membership status of every ticket holder will be verified while buying the tickets and at the venue. If you have not become a member yet, please do so right away by visiting Membership Page on Seattle Maharashtra Mandal Website.
Given the program content, length of the program, previous experiences, community feedback and in order to ensure quality experience for all patrons, entry is restricted to members of age 10 years and up (no exceptions please).

Due to constraints at the venue, childcare will not be available. SMM is looking into compiling and sharing nearby available and willing childcare resources. Parents and guardians can directly work with the childcare providers.

Senior citizens

SMM will be doing an in-person pre-sale for senior citizen members who indicated interest in SMM’s “Senior Citizen Correspondence”.
If you are a senior citizen member or know someone who needs help with ticket purchase, please contact info@seattlemm.org right away, you do not need to wait for ticket sales to open for it.

We still need volunteers to help with this event. Please sign up at this volunteer signup sheet
